The Alchemists at Maryland Opera Studio

The Clarice at University of Maryland, College Park

Librettist

Putting this piece together with the Maryland Opera Studio has been the most fulfilling transmutation. This piece focuses on pursuing dreams, challenging fate, and how success is sometimes linked to diligence.  The Alchemists unites two legendary periods in the American story - the Gold Rush and the Dust Bowl - to unearth the struggles and triumphs of charging headlong into the unknown in search of glory, and the myths, legends, and unfortunate truths that emerge along the journey.

Twisted Operelas Vol. VI

54 Below in Manhattan, NY

Broadway Cabaret’s Darkest Mind Returns to 54 Below

“A creepy-carnival vibe. Simply put, it’s twisted and wonderful.” – Time Out New York

Welcome to the garden of the damned. La Muerte, our beloved tequila-soaked glam goth sovereign of the underworld, and their adorably ill-made Diablito are back, gleefully bickering over which souls to prune in the coming great reckoning.

Overview

I'll be joining my writing team (Chuk Obasi, Christian DeGré Cardenas, and Bisi Adigun) to work on bringing to life our newest Opera. Moonshine in B Minor will showcase many styles of music as we tell the story of the unlikely romance between a Nigerian-born American Soldier and a battlefield nurse of Irish-Catholic decent.

Carolina Shakespeare Festival

In partnership with RALEIGH LITTLE THEATRE, Carolina Shakespeare presents an all-day SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL on Saturday April 19th in the Rose Garden’s Louise “Scottie” Stephenson Amphitheatre, 301 Pogue St, Raleigh. The event runs from Noon to 5pm and is FREE TO THE PUBLIC.
